If the party upon whom notice of citation has been issued objects to the findings or citation, he shall within two business days of the receipt of such citation notify the Fire Department of his objection to the citation. Upon the Fire Department receiving proper and timely objection, the Fire Department shall notify the responsible person of a time and place of a hearing on the subject citation. The hearing shall not be held sooner than seven days after the receipt of the notice by the responsible party and not later than thirty days after such receipt. The hearing shall be before the Safety Director of the City. The Safety Director shall receive any and all relevant evidence and has the power to amend, modify, dismiss, or extend the time period for abatement, if in his opinion such time period is found to be unreasonably short considering the nature of the violation. A short and plain statement of a right to hearing and appeal shall be stated on each violation.
