§ 6-2-172 SAME; DUTIES; RESIDENCE.
   The Police Chief shall be the head of the Police Department, and, under such rules and regulations as the City Manager may prescribe, shall have the supervision of all police officers, both regular and special, the charge and control of the training, equipping, and stationing of all such police officers, and the charge and control of all the property and equipment used in the Police Department. He or she shall also perform all the duties prescribed by the state statutes to be performed by the Chief of Police or City Marshal, and such other duties as are or may be prescribed by the ordinances of the city, to be performed by the Police Department. The Police Chief shall be a resident of the city, the City of Gering, the Village of Terrytown, or of an unincorporated area within five miles of the city limits.
