§ 6-2-40 ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER; ESTABLISHED; APPOINTMENT; RESIDENCE; DUTIES.
   There is hereby established the office of Assistant City Manager. The Assistant City Manager shall be appointed by the City Manager. The City Manager shall have discretion not to fill this position. The Assistant City Manager need not be a resident of the city or state prior to appointment, but shall become a resident before assuming the duties of his or her office. The Assistant City Manager shall perform such duties as prescribed by the City Manager. During the absence or disability of the City Manager, the Assistant City Manager shall perform the duties of the office of City Manager.
