§ 6-1-21 QUORUM; CONTINUANCE; COMPELLING ATTENDANCE.
   Rule 4. A majority of the number of members of the City Council for which provision is made by statute shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business, but a smaller number may adjourn or readjourn any regular or special meeting to a specified date and hour which is prior to the next regular meeting, and may compel attendance of members; provided, on the request of any two members, whether a quorum be present or not, any absentee shall be sent for and compelled to attend. Any hearing previously scheduled to be held at a meeting at which a quorum is not in attendance shall stand automatically continued to the same hour at the next regular meeting of the City Council, unless the City Council at a special meeting held during the interim shall otherwise specifically direct.
