A construction permit issued under provisions of this article shall become null and void if the work is not commenced within six months from date of issuance of the permit or shall be abandoned for a period of 120 days. Renewal of an expired permit for identical work shall be obtained before work is recommenced, and the renewal fee therefor shall be the minimum amount required for a new permit.
