§ 33.01 ESTABLISHED; PERSONNEL.
   (A)   There hereby is established a Police Department, an executive department. The Classified Service of the Department shall include such members in number and rank as may be provided for from time to time by an ordinance amending subsection (B) of this section, adopted by the President and Board of Trustees. In addition, the Non-Classified Service of the Department shall include such Civilian clerks, and radio and communication personnel; Auxiliary Police Officers; and other Civilians and employees as the President and Board of Trustees may provide by adoption of the annual Village budget.
   (B)   All members holding Classified Positions shall be appointed by the Fire and Police Commission and shall be subject to the rules of the Fire and Police Commission. The Classified Service of the Police Department shall be comprised of lieutenants*, sergeants, patrolmen or patrolwomen, and such other members all as may be authorized from time to time by the President and Board of Trustees.

   (C)   All Civilian members of the Non-Classified Service shall be hired by the Village President or the duly authorized agent of the Village President. Auxiliary Police Officers and persons holding Civilian Positions and Exempt Positions shall be appointed by the Village President with the advice and consent of the President and Board of Trustees. The Village President is authorized hereby to appoint the number of Auxiliary Police Officers, as employees of the Village in the Non-Classified Service of the Police Department, as the Village President may deem necessary to serve the law enforcement needs of the Village. The appointment of any or all Auxiliary Police Officers appointed hereunder shall be for the one (1) year and may be terminated, at any time with or without cause, by the Village President.
   (D)   Upon appointment, all Sworn Police Officers shall execute the prescribed Oath of Office before entering upon their respective duties.
