The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
ENFORCING AGENT: | Any employee or agent of the Village designated by the Village President to exercise police powers to enforce the ordinances and policies of the Village of Scales Mound. This includes but is not limited to any Police Officer, Enforcement Officer, or Village Attorney. |
LIENHOLDER OF RECORD: | Any person having a lawfully recorded lien on a vehicle as registered with the Illinois Secretary of State. |
OWNER OF RECORD OF A VEHICLE: | The record title holder as registered with the Illinois Secretary of State. |
TOW TRUCK: | A motor vehicle which has been altered or designed and equipped for and exclusively used in the business of towing vehicles by means of a crane, tow bar, tow line or dolly, or is otherwise exclusively used to render assistance to other vehicles. |
TOWING SERVICE: | A company or provider whose primary business is the provision of tow truck services in response to a dispatch or request from the police department or any other municipal department. |
TRUCK: | Any truck weighing over ten thousand (10,000) pounds. (Ord. 2021-003, 10-25-2021) |
