2-5-4: EXEMPTIONS:
The following shall be exempt from the conditions of this chapter:
   A.   Any person exempt from the requirements of this chapter by virtue of State of Illinois or federal law.
   B.   Any person under eighteen (18) years of age, when engaged in the business of being a solicitor under the direct supervision of any school or recognized charitable organization or religious organization.
   C.   Any person who is the duly authorized representative or agent of any church, charitable organization, or of any political group seeking membership or contacting members or electors.
   D.   Any person, transient or itinerant merchant, or mobile vending unit operator engaging in business solely at a city-recognized market or event, provided that all transactions are conducted solely within the confines of that city-recognized market or event and that the rules and regulations of the city-recognized market or event are observed.
   E.   Any person soliciting commercial business establishments during normal business hours.
   F.   Any person engaged in the delivery of goods wares or merchandise or other articles or things in the regular course of business to the premises or persons who had previously ordered the same or were entitled to receive the same by reason of prior agreement.
   G.   A person or entity having garage or yard sales or sidewalk sales on their own property so long as the sales are intermittent and not continuous and do not last for longer than three days at a time and no longer than twelve (12) days total per calendar year. Each day a garage or yard sale or sidewalk sale is set up shall constitute one day. (Ord. 2018-005, 10-29-2018)
