6-1-1: SIDEWALKS:
   A.   Construction And Repair:
      1.   Village Policy: It is hereby declared to be the policy of the village board that safe sidewalks should exist in the village, as said sidewalks exist now or hereafter.
      2.   Repair And Replacement Required: The village board shall, by resolution, order property owners to replace or repair sidewalks along the frontage of their property in the public right of way when identified as unsafe by the village. Such sidewalks will be replaced or repaired according to the specifications of the village and, when so ordered, done within ninety (90) days. (Ord., 2-24-2003)
      3.   Costs: For all sidewalks laid in the village adjoining private property, the parties owning the property shall pay one-half (1/2) the cost of said sidewalk and the village one- half (1/2). (Ord. 92, 5-1-1912)
      4.   Injunction And Enforcement: The village may apply for an injunction to enforce this subsection. (Ord., 2-24-2003)
   B.   Accumulation Of Snow And Ice Prohibited: It shall be unlawful for any owner or occupant of any premises within the corporate limits of the village to permit the accumulation of snow and ice to remain upon the sidewalks for a longer period than twenty four (24) hours in front of or along his or her premises. Whoever violates this subsection shall, upon conviction, be fined as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code, and if any person shall continue to violate after being fined for the same, a new cause of action shall accrue, subjecting the offender to a like penalty.
