1-8-1: Officers; Terms
1-8-2: When Elections Conducted
1-8-1: OFFICERS; TERMS:
   A.   In a statutory aldermanic city, the terms of the elected officers shall be staggered so that at any one general municipal election, the following officers are to be elected for four (4) year terms:
      1.   One council member from each ward; and
      2.   The mayor;
   B.   At the next general municipal election, the following officers are to be elected for four (4) year terms:
      1.   One council member from each ward. (1989 Code § 2-102; amd. Res. 1-16-01(B), 1-16-2001; Ord. 724, 6-17-2003)
1-8-2: WHEN ELECTIONS CONDUCTED:
   A.   General: General municipal elections are held on the first Tuesday in April of each odd numbered year.
   B.   Primary: A primary election shall be held the first Tuesday of March in each odd numbered year, at which time the several political parties shall nominate candidates for offices which are to be elected at the upcoming general municipal election. (1989 Code § 2-102; amd. 2002 Code)
