ORDINANCE NO. 881
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA FE SPRINGS ADOPTING A REVISED CITY CODE TO SUPERSEDE THE PRESENT CITY CODE IN ITS ENTIRETY.
WHEREAS, the present general and permanent ordinances of the City are inadequately arranged and classified and are insufficient in form and substance for the complete preservation of the public peace, health, safety and general welfare of the City and for the proper conduct of its affairs; and
WHEREAS, the Acts of the Legislature of the State of California empower and authorize the City to revise, amend, restate, codify and compile any existing ordinances and all new ordinances not heretofore adopted or published and to incorporate such ordinances into one ordinance in book form; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Authority of the Political Subdivision has authorized a general compilation, revision and codification of the ordinances of the City of a general and permanent nature and publication of such ordinance in book form,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA FE SPRINGS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The document attached hereto as Exhibit "A," which exhibit is incorporated by reference herein, is hereby adopted as the City Code of the City of Santa Fe Springs, superseding the present City Code in its entirety, as of the effective date of this Ordinance.
Section 2: The superseding of the present City Code shall not negate any offense committed, penalty incurred or right established prior to the effective date of this Ordinance, nor shall it negate the levying of fees or taxes, the appropriation of funds, establishment of franchises, authorization of issuance of bonds or borrowing of money, authorization of purchase or sale of real or personal property, granting or acceptance of easements or dedication of land to public use, vacating or setting the boundaries of streets or other public places.
Section 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance, and shall cause the same to be posted in at least three (3) public places in the City, such posting to be completed not later than fifteen (15) days after the passage hereof.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 23rd DAY OF October 1997.
