1349.03 ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR; WORK ON OWN PREMISES BY NONELECTRICIAN.
   For the purpose of this chapter, an electrical contractor shall be any individual, partnership or corporation, other than a public utility company as stated in Section 1349.10 hereof, or a plant as stated in Section 1349.09, hereof, that proceeds with or employs others for, the construction, alteration, repairs or additions to any electrical wiring for the purpose of furnishing heat, light or power within the limits of the City. The provisions of this chapter shall not be construed to prevent an individual who is the owner and occupant of the one, two or three-family dwelling or its accessory structure and who observes the provisions of this chapter and other ordinances of the City relating to electrical wiring, upon procuring a permit therefor, from installing, altering or repairing, by and for himself, the electrical wiring on his property or premises.
