137.01 DIRECTOR OF LAW; DUTIES.
   The duties of the Law Director are:
   (a)   To act as attorney and legal counsel for the City of Salem and its officers in their official capacity;
   (b)   To attend all regular and special meetings of Council;
   (c)   To prosecute and defend all actions by or against the City or any department or officer thereof;
   (d)   To render legal opinions to Council and to any department head or officer of the City;
   (e)   To prepare legislation when requested by the Mayor or any member of Council;
   (f)   To prosecute all traffic and criminal cases in the Salem Mayor’s Court or County Court, brought under the Salem City Ordinances;
   (g)   To perform all legal duties relating to the financing of any City development by means of notes and/or bonds; and
   (h)   To perform any other legal duties for the City when so directed by Council or by the Mayor.
