A taxicab and/or transit vehicle may adopt a trade name, design, color scheme or method of painting or lettering as approved by the Planning & Zoning Officer or Chief of Police. However, such trade name, design, color scheme or method of painting or lettering shall include the following:
(a) The name of the taxicab and/or transit vehicle operator or trade name and the word "taxi" or "cab" or "transit vehicle" painted on the front passenger door and front driver door of each vehicle no smaller than ten (10) inches by twenty-four (24) inches or a total of two-hundred and forty (240) square inches with lettering not less than four (4) inches in height. All mandatory lettering and wording shall be of such a color as in the opinion of the Planning and Zoning Officer or Chief of Police will contrast distinctly with the color of the body of the taxicab and/or transit vehicle. (b) Whenever the word "paint" or "painted" is used in this Chapter, it shall mean the application of coloring made of oil solution, not in water solution or in approved adhesive material.
(c) All duly licensed taxicabs and/or transit vehicles shall receive a taxicab and/or transit vehicle operator license for each vehicle. Said license shall be affixed and displayed on the interior window of the right rear door of each vehicle which shall be visible to each passenger entering the taxicab or transit vehicle.
