(A) The City Sanitation Department, under the supervision of the Code Compliance Officer shall perform at least one heavy trash collection period each year.
(B) The city will collect the items listed, per the heavy trash definition in § 51.15, provided the collection items originated from the occupants of the residential location where the pick-up occurs.
(C) The collection of heavy trash items should take two employees no longer than five minutes to collect. Any pile of heavy trash that exceeds this limitation will be collected only at the discretion of the Code Compliance Officer on a case-by-case basis and only if special circumstances warrant an extended collection time. Any pile of refuse that is too large to be collected in this time frame or deemed not fit for collection by the Code Compliance Officer will not be collected and will be the responsibility of the property owner/occupants to discard the refuse in a proper manner.
(D) Any resident who fails to meet the guidelines of this section will be in violation of this section and face penalties in accordance with § 51.99.
(E) City residents may elect to have heavy trash items collected by the City Sanitation/Street Department at any time during the year for a fee, as per the City Solid Waste Fee Schedule attached to Ordinance 2020-13. It is the responsibility of the resident to call the Street Department to arrange a collection time for this service. The resident must pay the collection fee in full to the City Clerk/Treasurer in order to schedule a collection time. Once paid in full, a collection time and date may be arranged.
