A. The board shall have such other and further powers as are contained in 65 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/10-2.1-1 et seq., and as amended from time to time.

B. The board shall possess the powers granted by State Statutes to suspend and discharge public safety officers and, in addition, shall possess the power, after a hearing, to demote a public safety officer one grade or rank.
C. The board, in rules and regulations drafted in conformity with this chapter, may exercise such other powers as shall be inherent in an administrative body of a home rule municipality and which are necessary to carry out its functions.
D. The exercise of such additional powers, however, shall not conflict with any provision of the ordinances of the Village.
