A. The Deputy Chief of the Bureau of Patrol, or his designee, shall be the keeper of the Village Jail, and shall have custody of all persons incarcerated therein. He shall keep such records and make such reports as may be required by law or as may be required by the President and Board of Trustees.
B. In all cases of arrest on view for a violation of this Code or any of the ordinances of the Village in which detention in custody of the person so arrested shall be authorized by this Code or by any of such ordinances, it shall be the duty of the keeper of the Village Jail, or other place of confinement provided for violators of such Code or ordinances, to receive, and he is hereby authorized and empowered to make, such arrests, of any person for safekeeping until such person can be safely brought before a judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County and be tried for such violation prescribed by this Code or by ordinance.
