6-1-12: OFF DUTY EMPLOYMENT AND BUSINESS OWNERSHIP OF OFFICERS:
A person who is employed by the Village as a regular public safety officer, as an auxiliary public safety, or who is a retired public safety officer employed by the Village in a supervisory position with the Department of Public Safety:
   A.   Shall be permitted to be employed by a corporation, partnership, unincorporated association, sole proprietorship or any other entity which has a contract with the Village, unless there is another Village ordinance or unless there is a rule or regulation of the Public Safety Department which prohibits or restricts such employment.
   B.   Shall be permitted to have an ownership interest in a corporation, partnership, unincorporated association, sole proprietorship or any other entity which has a contract with the Village, unless there is another Village ordinance or unless there is a rule or regulation of the Public Safety Department which prohibits or restricts the person from having such an ownership interest; provided, that the existence and extent of such ownership interest is disclosed to the Village Clerk or to the Corporate Authorities of the Village. In the event disclosure is made to the Village Clerk, the Village Clerk shall inform the Corporate Authorities of the Village of the disclosure.
   C.   Shall not be subject to the restrictions contained in 65 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/3.1-55-10 and 50 Illinois Compiled Statutes 105/3.
