§ 132.01  RESISTING ARREST.
   (A)   Offense defined.  No person shall resist arrest or interfere with an arrest anywhere in the Village. The following provisions shall apply:
      (1)   A person commits the offense of resisting arrest or interfering with arrest if, knowing  that a law enforcement officer is making an arrest, he or she does any of the following:
         (a)   Resists the arrest of himself or herself by using or threatening the use of violence or physical force or by fleeing from the officer; or
         (b)   Interferes with the arrest of another person by using or threatening the use of violence, physical force or physical interference.
      (2)   This section applies to arrests with or without warrants, for any ordinance violation or violation of state law.
      (3)   This section applies whether the officer is successfully making an arrest or merely attempting to make an arrest.
      (4)   This section does not apply to a person resisting an arrest or interfering with an arrest if that person did not know that the person making or attempting the arrest was a police officer and that the officer was making or attempting to make an arrest.
   (B)   Civil suits.  Nothing in this section shall be construed as affecting the right of any person to bring a civil action for any claim arising out of an arrest or an attempt to make an arrest.
