The following positions in the Building Department are hereby created, and may be combined at the discretion of the Director, with the approval of the Mayor. At no time, without approval by City Council, shall said positions, including the position of Director and Building Commissioner, be filled by more than nine (9) full-time employees. As such, the positions are to be filled by appointment by the Mayor, in accordance with the provisions of the City Charter. Such positions are hereby declared to be in the unclassified service as it is impracticable to fill such positions by competitive examination.

Executive Secretary to the Commissioner
Secretaries
In addition, the Mayor may from time to time appoint part-time employees including but not limited to plumbing inspectors and electrical inspectors.
