There is hereby created and established a Senior Services Department. The Senior Services Department shall be dedicated to serving the needs and interests of persons who have reached the age of 50 in order to foster independence by providing activities relating to recreation, education, social activities, and human services for the City's older adult population. The Senior Services Department shall perform such functions and duties as may be determined by the Mayor and City Council, or its Senior Services Director. The Senior Services Director will prepare and submit an annual budget as requested by the Mayor and City Council to fulfill its purpose.
