For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless then context indicates or requires a different meaning.
CHIEF OF POLICE. The appointed Chief for the City of Rockaway Beach, his or her designee or that person authorized by the City Council to act in that capacity.
CITY. The City of Rockaway Beach and all streets, avenues or ways within the city limits.
COSTS. All expenses associated with removing, storing and disposing of an impounded vehicle.
EQUIPMENT. Any tool, implement, personal property or machinery.
OWNER OF THE VEHICLE. As shown by the records of the Department of Transportation, shall be considered responsible for the abandonment of a vehicle in the manner prohibited by this section and shall be liable for the cost of removal and disposition of the abandoned vehicle.
STORAGE. A vehicle that remains unmoved for 30 days.
STORAGE IN EXCESS OF 30 DAYS. Shall constitute abandonment.
VEHICLE.
(1) Any device in, upon or by which any person or property is, or may be transported upon, a public highway and includes vehicles that are propelled or powered by any means.
(2) This definition includes water craft and their trailers.
