1-10-3: ATTORNEY FOR THE VILLAGE:
   A.   Appointment: The Attorney for the Village, an executive officer of the Village, shall be appointed by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees.
   B.   Duties: The Attorney for the Village shall:
      1.   Prosecute and defend any and all suits or actions at law or equity to which the Village may be a party or in which it may be interested;
      2.   See to the enforcement of all judgments or decrees rendered in favor of the Village;
      3.   Advise the President and Board of Trustees on all legal questions affecting the Village whenever requested so to do by any Village official, and reduce any such opinion to writing when requested by the President;
      4.   Institute and complete all special assessment proceedings authorized by ordinance;
      5.   Draft ordinances, contracts, leases and other documents to which the Village may be a party; and
      6.   Perform such other professional services incident to his office as may be required by the Board of Trustees or any of its committees. (1982 Code)
