Pursuant to the provisions of 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/11-604, and the basis of previous traffic investigations, the president and board of trustees of the village do hereby determine and declare that a reasonable and safe absolute maximum speed limit for all vehicles traveling on all streets within the village, other than Lake Cook Road, Milwaukee Avenue, Duffy Lane, Riverwoods Road, Deerfield Road and Saunders Road, is twenty (20) miles per hour; provided, however, that the reasonable and safe absolute maximum speed limit for all vehicles traveling on the following streets is twenty five (25) miles per hour:

The maximum speed limits for streets not posted as having a maximum speed limit of twenty (20) or twenty five (25) miles per hour shall be as specified in the Illinois vehicle code or as otherwise determined by the governmental authority having jurisdiction thereof. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive any vehicle on any street within the village at a speed exceeding the speed limits established in this section where such speed limits are posted. Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be subject to all of the penalty provisions of the Illinois vehicle code. (Ord. 11-10-25, 10-18-2011)
