3-3-4: ISSUANCE AND REVOCATION OF CERTIFICATE:
   A.   The police chief, upon receipt of a properly completed application, but in no event later than five (5) working days after the receipt of the application, shall either issue a certificate of registration or notify the applicant in writing that the application has been denied because of the applicant's failure to satisfy the requirements of this chapter. If the defects of the application are not cured within ten (10) days after the date on which the police chief denies the issuance of the certificate of registration, the application shall become null and void. Each certificate of registration shall state the expiration date thereof.
   B.   Any certificate of registration issued hereunder shall be revoked by the police chief if the holder of the certificate is convicted of a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter, or has made a false material statement in the application, or otherwise becomes disqualified for the issuance of a certificate of registration under the terms of this chapter. Immediately upon such revocation written notice thereof shall be given by the police chief to the holder of the certificate in person or by certified U.S. mail addressed to his or her residence set forth in the application. Immediately upon the giving of such notice, the certificate of registration shall become null and void. (Ord. 03-8-24, 8-5-2003)
