It shall be the duty of the President to report to the Village Board, at the first regular meeting of the Board held after any such appointment, all appointments of special police officers made by him or her.

POWERS AND DUTIES OF POLICE
Police officers shall have the power and authority, and it shall be their duty in the village, and outside of the same when necessary and lawful, to serve and execute warrants and other process for the apprehension and commitment of persons charged with a violation of this code or any village ordinance or any crime or misdemeanor, or offense against the laws of the village or state, or held for examination or trial, or held in execution for the commission of any crime or misdemeanor or violation of any law, or ordinance of the village.

No member of the police force shall fail to perform any duty required of him or her by the ordinances of the village, by the Chief of Police, or by the President, or in the discharge of his or her official duties be guilty of any fraud, extortion, oppression, favoritism or willful wrong or injustice. In addition to other penalties, the violator may be removed from the Police Department.
