The Director of Public Safety shall exercise all of the powers and duties of the Chief of Police as set forth throughout the Village Code, including but not limited to those set forth in Section 2-17-4 (Chief of Police) of Title 2 (Departments, Boards and Commissions), Chapter 17 (Police Department). The Director of Public Safety shall also exercise all of the powers and duties of the Fire Chief as set forth throughout the Village Code, including in Section 2-13-5 (Powers of Fire Chief) of Title 2 (Departments, Boards and Commissions), Chapter 13 (Department of Fire/Rescue and Emergency Services).
