4-1-27: PROTECTING GAS AND WATER MAINS DURING EXCAVATION:
Should gas or water mains or other pipes or drains be encountered during the progress of the excavation, the same shall be carefully and thoroughly protected against injury or settlement by the contractor at his own expense.
