5-2-7: PERMIT REQUIRED:
Pursuant to subsection 5-2-6B of this chapter, obstructions of any street, alley, sidewalk or other public way shall be unlawful without first obtaining a permit therefor. An application for a permit shall be made to the director of public works. The application shall describe the nature, location and duration of the obstruction, as well as, details of any applicable traffic control and protection. The fee for such permit shall be three hundred fifty dollars for the first month or fraction thereof and three hundred fifty dollars per month thereafter. In addition to the payment of applicable permit fees, a street obstruction permit will only be issued upon payment of a three hundred fifty dollar deposit. Said deposit being considered a cash performance bond to ensure adherence to applicable policies and as a damage deposit. To ensure public safety and welfare, all obstructions within the public right of way shall conform to the village's "policy on obstructions of public rights of way". This section shall not be construed so as to permit any obstruction otherwise prohibited by this code. (Ord. 3279, 4-27-2009)
