As used in this chapter:
(a) "Ashes" means the residue from the burning of wood, coal, coke or other combustible materials.
(b) "Garbage" means putrescible animal, fruit and vegetable waste resulting from the handling, preparation, cooking and consumption of food.
(c) "Recyclables" means any material having an economic value in the secondary materials market, such as newsprint (including anything that arrives in the daily newspaper); tin and aluminum containers; white, brown and green glass containers; plastic milk jugs; two liter plastic pop bottles; and refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges and window air conditioners. The Village shall have the authority, by passage of an appropriate resolution, from time to time, to add to the list of recyclables.
(d) "Refuse" means all putrescible and nonputrescible solid waste (except body waste) including garbage, rubbish, ashes, street cleanings, dead animals and solid market and industrial wastes.
(e) "Resident's composting operation" means a compost pile or area upon a person's land designed for the purpose of composting yard wastes and designed to accommodate yard wastes from a person's own land.
(f) "Rubbish" means nonputrescible solid waste (excluding ashes) consisting of both combustible and noncombustible waste, such as paper, cardboard, tin cans, yard clippings, wood, glass, bedding, crockery and similar materials.
(g) "Structure" means anything constructed or erected, the use of which requires a more or less permanent location on the ground, or attached to something having a permanent location on the ground.
(h) "Yard wastes" means lawn and grass cuttings, leaves, branches, twigs and cuttings from trees, shrubbery and other plantings and vegetation.
