135.05 POLICE PROSECUTOR.
   (a)    There is hereby created within the Department of Law the position of Police Prosecutor of the City. The Police Prosecutor shall work under the direction of and report to the Director of Law who shall remain responsible for the prosecution of any criminal matters within the City. The Director of Law may personally conduct any of the duties of the Prosecutor as he may in his discretion determine.
   (b)    The Police Prosecutor shall be an Attorney at Law designated by the Director of Law, subject to the approval of a majority of the members of Council, and shall perform the services of Prosecutor, including the meetings with persons having complaints with the City, residents or other persons as is customarily handled by Police Prosecutors, and the prosecution of cases in the Mayor's Court of the City and the Municipal Court of Lyndhurst as directed by the Mayor.
   (c)    The Police Prosecutor shall receive such compensation as is determined by Council.
