AIRPORT FLIGHT ZONES

18.132.010: APPLICABILITY OF PROVISIONS:
The regulations set out in this chapter shall apply to land lying outside the boundaries of all airports in the city, or located contiguous thereto, where the takeoff or landing patterns involve flight over land within the city. (Ord. 1000 § 44, 1955)
18.132.020: BUILDING HEIGHT; NONCONFORMING BUILDINGS:
   A.   No building or structure may be erected, structurally altered or enlarged within lines which define the flight zone for landing strips or aircraft runways unless the height of such building shall be below a line defined as the angle of glide.
   B.   The "angle of glide" means and is defined as beginning at the end of the takeoff or landing strip and having an angle described by a one foot (1') vertical rise for every forty feet (40') of horizontal run. All existing buildings lying within this area which do not comply with this provision are hereby declared to be nonconforming, and are subject to such action as may be prescribed by law.
   C.   No building shall be more than one story or twenty feet (20') in height within one thousand feet (1,000') of the exterior boundaries of any airport.
   D.   The provisions of the Redlands municipal airport airspace zoning ordinance regulating and restricting the height of structures, object of natural growth, and otherwise regulating the use of airspaces, shall apply to land lying outside the boundaries of the Redlands municipal airport.
