Words and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in the Vehicle Code of Pennsylvania, except in those instances where the context clearly indicates a different meaning. The singular shall include the plural and the masculine shall include the feminine.

The person in charge of any motor vehicle service station, garage or repair shop, including a motor vehicle garage or repair shop operated in connection with a motor vehicle parts and accessories store in the City to which is brought any motor vehicle which shows evidence of having been involved in an accident, externally damaged or struck by a bullet, shall make a report of such damage to the Police Department, orally or in writing or upon demand. The report shall be retained by the vehicle repair shop for a minimum of one year. The report shall include the registration number of the vehicle and, if known, the name and address of the owner and/or operation of such vehicle as well as photographs of the damage to the vehicle.

Whoever violates any provision of this chapter shall be, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to a fine of not less than $10 nor more than $600 plus costs and, in default of payment of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 30 days.
