The structural design and construction of a swimming pool shall be designed to withstand the water pressure from within and to resist the pressure of the earth when the pool is empty. The slope of the bottom of any part of a pool in which the water is less than five feet in depth shall be not more than one foot in each 15 feet. The maximum slope where water is five feet or more in depth shall not exceed one foot in three feet. The bottom and walls shall be free of protruding parts or gadgets on which any part of the body, and in particular the toes and fingers, could be inserted and held.
