§ 1246.05 ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF NEWLY ANNEXED LAND.
   Whenever any areas are annexed to the city, the newly annexed land must be given an interim zoning classification in accordance with one of the following procedures:
   (A)   If the land is zoned before being annexed by the city, the city must classify the newly annexed land into the zoning district that closely matches the zoning that existed prior to annexation. The classification must be recommended by the Planning Commission and shall be approved by City Council.
   (B)   Land annexed to the city from the unincorporated portion of the county or from any other city, township or village, that is not zoned will automatically be zoned Residential "A" pending study and hearings by the Planning Commission and City Council to determine an appropriate district(s) for such annexed land.
