In pursuance of the authority conferred by Neb. RS 19-901 through 19-929, as amended, this chapter is enacted for the purpose of promoting the health, safety, convenience, order, prosperity, and welfare of the present and future inhabitants in the city by regulating and restricting the height, number of stories, and size of buildings and other structures, the size of yards, courts, and other open spaces, and the location and use of buildings, structures, and land for trade, industry, residence, or other purposes in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan and the zoning maps adopted herewith
