§ 40.308 POWERS AND DUTIES.
   The Building Commission shall have the powers and duties set forth in this subchapter or this code and other powers and duties as the City Council may hereafter prescribe. In no event shall the Building Commission have the power to make expenditures or contracts for services or materials except as specifically provided for herein or as otherwise authorized by the City Council. The powers and duties of the Building Commission shall be as follows:
   (A)   To decide appeals from any order, ruling, decision or interpretation made by the Building Inspector or other enforcing officer in relation to the enforcement of the provisions of the International Building Code adopted pursuant to § 150.01 of this code, except any notice to abate a nuisance given or issued pursuant to Chapter 92 of the municipal code of the city;
   (B)   To decide appeals from any order, ruling, decision or interpretation made by the Building Inspector or other enforcing officer in relation to the enforcement of the provisions of the International Building Code adopted pursuant to § 150.01 of this code, except any notice to abate a nuisance given or issued pursuant to Chapter 92 of the municipal code of the city; and
   (C)   To hear application for and grant variances from the restrictions and regulations regarding development in floodplain areas, subject to the standards and limitations of §§ 40.309(E) and 155.09 of this code.
