This district is intended to establish and preserve an attractive, safe, and convenient central business district in a manner that will accommodate a wide range of retail uses and businesses, financial offices and uses, governmental and professional offices and uses, and places of entertainment in a setting conducive to, and safe for, a high volume of pedestrian traffic. Compatible residential uses are allowed in order to promote increased daily activity levels in the district and reuse and development of existing structures.
