A person who violates a provision of the building code or fails to comply therewith or with any of the requirements thereof, or who erects, constructs, alters, repairs, or removes, or has erected, constructed, altered, repaired, or removed a building or structure in violation of a detailed statement or plan submitted and approved there under or of a permit or certificate issued there under, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished as provided in Section 1-12 of this Code, including costs. Each day upon which a violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense.
