Police department chief, part time members of the police department and civilian employees shall be appointed by the village president and confirmed by the village board. Part time members and civilian employees may be suspended from their positions by the village president for any period not to exceed thirty (30) days. Any suspension exceeding thirty (30) days, or removal from duties permanently, of said part time members and civilian employees shall be approved by the village board.
The appointment of all full time officers, except the chief of police, and suspension or removal of full time police shall be by the board of fire and police commissioners as provided in title 2, chapter 6 of this code, and Illinois Compiled Statutes. (Ord. 72-4, 4-11-1972)
