No member of the police force shall be assigned to any duty other than that strictly in the line of police work.
No member of the police force, except members thereof assigned to detective or confidential duty, shall wear citizen's dress while on duty.
Every member of the police department shall wear a suitable badge to be furnished by the village and any member who shall lose or destroy the same shall be required to pay the cost of replacing it. Whenever any member shall leave the department he shall immediately deliver his badge to the chief of police. (1965 Code)
