Upon receipt of an application for a permit to open conduct or carry on a dance or public dance the chief of police shall make or cause to be made such investigation of the applicant and the premises proposed to be used for a dance hall or for a public dance and all other matters contained in the application as the chief of police shall consider necessary to protect the health, safety, morals or welfare of the public, and to assure that any public dance or dance authorized by the permit applied for will be conducted and operated in compliance with all applicable laws of the state of California and regulations of the city of Pinole. The chief of police shall issue a permit or shall deny the application therefor. (Ord. 253 § 3, 1968).
