§ 31.15 OFFICERS.
   (A)   The Fire Department shall consist of a Chief, Assistant Chief, Captain, two Lieutenants, and other officers as the Chief and Mayor may deem necessary for the effective operation of the Department.
   (B)   The Chief shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners for a term of two years (to run concurrent with Town Board elections) and shall be removable during such term for good cause only. The Chief shall be technically qualified by training and experience and shall have ability to command personnel and hold their respect and confidence. The Chief’s removal for good cause shall be only after a public hearing before the Board of Commissioners.
   (C)   The Chief shall be held accountable to the Mayor and Board and shall make written and verbal reports thereto as the Mayor and Board may require. All other Department and Company officers shall be accountable to the Chief only.
   (D)   The Assistant Chief shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners for a term of two years (to run concurrent with Town Board elections) and shall be removed during such term for good cause only.
