1056.05 SEPARATE BUILDING SEWERS REQUIRED; OLD SEWER USAGE.
   (a)   A separate and independent building sewer shall be provided for every building, except that where one building stands at the rear of another on an interior lot and no private sewer is available or can be constructed to the rear building through an adjoining court, alley, yard or driveway, the building sewer from the front building may be extended to the rear building and the whole considered as one building sewer. In special cases, this regulation may be extended to include three or more users when an approved cleanout well is provided at the upper end of the lateral forming the multiple service building sewer, following the proper sizing of the sewer by the Municipal Engineer and approval in writing by the Manager.
   (b)   Old building sewers may be used for connection with public sewers only after an examination to determine the type of construction and then only after testing to determine their water tightness. They shall be tested in a like manner as used for the public sewers and the cost of such testing shall be borne by the owner. Evidence of the examination shall be placed on file in the office of the Manager, who shall, after such examination, give the owner, tenant, contractor or lessee, a letter stating that the sewer has been tested and is satisfactory for use as a sanitary sewer connection to the public sewers of the Municipality.
