(a) The Mayor may designate, with the approval of a majority of Council, any qualified resident of the Village to perform the Administrator's powers, duties and functions during his or her temporary absence from the Village or during his or her disability. The Acting Administrator so designed shall exercise all powers, duties and functions of the Administrator during the temporary absence from the Village or disability of the Administrator.
(b) In the event of a vacancy in the office of Administrator, the mayor may designate a person as Acting Administrator, who shall exercise all power, duties and functions of the Administrator until an Administrator is appointed, by the Mayor with the approval of a majority of Council. Said vacancy in the office of Administrator shall be filled in accordance with the provisions of this section, within six months of said vacancy.
