Any order or decision of the Ordinance Officer or Chief of Police regarding an animal under this chapter, including a declaration or finding that a dog is a vicious or nuisance dog due to its actions, as set forth in this chapter, may be appealed by the owner, keeper or harborer to the City Council within ten (10) days after receipt of written notice thereof. Upon appeal, the City Council shall provide to the dog's owner, keeper or harborer the opportunity to appear before them and present evidence, if any, relative to the appeal. The owner, keeper or harborer of the dog shall be notified in writing of the Council's decision regarding the appeal. (Ord. 1533, 2023: Ord. 1400, 2015)
