"Unit heater" means a fixture or apparatus manufactured and designed principally for heating. The essential elements of a unit heater are a fan, heater, housing, outlet vanes, or diffusers, fully automatic controls, vent pipe, draft diverter or a type-A cap. Unit heaters are ceiling-suspended and use natural, manufactured or mixed gas for fuel.
