As an alternative to masonry foundations, a foundation of eight-inch poured concrete, having a 2,500 pound per square inch compressive strength, may be used, in conformity with the Building Code of the American Concrete Institute. . The foundation wall above grade shall be faced with brick and provided with proper ties, spaced three courses apart on sixteen-inch centers. Forms may be removed twenty-four hours after pouring concrete. Proper steel reinforcing rods must be used under all windows. Footers for a concrete foundation must be eight by sixteen inches, provided with a key-way in footer, which shall be four inches across the top, tapered down to three inches, and be of a two-inch depth. No backfilling of such concrete foundations shall take place and no superstructure shall be erected on such foundations until ten full days have elapsed.
