"Yard" means an open unoccupied space, clear and unobstructed from the ground level to the sky. Yards are classified as follows:
(a) "Front yard" means a yard immediately in the front of a building.
(b) "Rear yard" means a yard immediately in the rear of a building and extending across the entire width of the lot.
(c) "Side yard" means a yard immediately at the side of a building and extending straight and direct from the front yard or the street to the rear yard.
(d) "Enclosed yard" means a yard surrounded on all sides by the walls of a building or buildings.
(e) "Offset yard" means any yard other than a front, rear, side or enclosed yard.
