Whoever violates any of the provisions of this chapter, fails to comply therewith or with any order issued by any public official pursuant to the provisions hereof shall be fined not more than three hundred dollars ($300.00) or imprisoned not more than ninety days, or both. Such person, firm or corporation shall be guilty of a separate offense for each day or portion of a day in which any violation or failure to comply is committed, continued, or permitted by such person, firm or corporation and shall be punished therefor as above provided.
